What you see
— Dazzlers Dance Studio, on Ponneth Temple Road, Kadavanthra, Cochin, is located on the fourth floor of a rather worn out building. Once
inside, we noticed that there was a bare but neat lobby area and a fairly large dance studio. What you get
— Dazzlers Dance Studio is one of Cochin’s latest dance academies. Launched by professional choreographers, the Dazzlers team promises one-of-a-kind learning experience for housewives, students and professionals alike.
P Sreejith, the founder and principal instructor, was trained at Kalabhavan and has two decades of experience in dance choreography. He has been a part of dance compositions for mega events like film awards and beauty pageants.
Sreejith uses his vast experience in the field of choreography to impart knowledge of dance forms among his students. At Dazzlers, the instructors aim to bring a contemporary touch to dance. They offer classes in Hip-Hop, Bollywood dance, Bollywood workout, Contemporary dance and so on. They also conduct classes on a special kind of yoga called Kriyatma, where yogic exercises are fused with contemporary dance movements, accompanied by music. The Kriyatma package includes breathing and meditation exercises to ensure holistic well-being.
Discussions with experts in the field and dance theory sessions are often organized at Dazzlers that help take the level of proficiency higher. To accommodate working professionals, Dazzlers has special evening batches and weekend batches to ensure more and more people can be part of their community. Our verdict
— The team at Dazzlers in Cochin has a strong background and a student can be assured of quality services. The instructors aim at achieving overall well-being and toning, and hence the sessions double-up as fitness classes. The instructors are interactive and ensure that students are constantly kept in the loop about new programs and sessions. Timings are especially convenient for professionals. Fees for classes start at Rs. 600 per month for two classes per week. Parking is nearly impossible around here as the lanes are narrow and there is constant traffic to and from the eye hospital nearby.
