Mamma's Collection, for cottons
What you see – A big flex hoarding announcing the store at the Thoppumpady bus stop welcomed MetroMela to Mamma’s Collection. Its glass windows were festooned with clothes that caught our attention from the outside itself.
What you get – Mamma’s Collection which is spread across two floors stocks clothes for the entire family. For girls and boys up to the age of 15, they have a wide collection of cotton garments, the prices of which start from Rs. 150.
Girls can choose from ghaghra cholis, salwar kurtas, churidars, capris, skirts, cargos and jacketswhich cost Rs. 250 onwards. They also have chiffon, velvet and silk apparel. In the girls’ section we came across a cream colored silk frock (Rs. 375 ) studded with rhinestone and sequins with little embroidery, perfect to make your little girl look like a princess.
The boys’ section has ethnic wear like kurta pyjamas with stoles apart from western wear like T-shirts and cargo pants. T–shirts for boys start from Rs. 150 onwards. If you plan to get clothes tailored for your child, you can visit the dress material section of the store. Materials from the brands like Vimal and Raymonds are available here.
The store stocks apparel and dress materials for women and men as well. Ladies can select salwar kameez and churidar sets for Rs. 500 and above. For men, they mainly have shirt and trouser material. Readymade shirts and trousers from Park Avenue and Levi’s are also available.
Our verdict – A major part of their collection is for women and children, so it is better to check this place out if that’s on your mind. Finding space for your vehicle may be a bother since they have a very small parking lot in the front of the store.
