What you see – Formost, the apparel store situated on MG Road, near Padma Theatre, welcomes you with its unconventional architecture. There are cylindrical pillars at the entrance which reflect the enlarged image of the person in front of it. Then there is a fish pond teeming with small and big fish. This looks more attractive during the evenings when seen under lights.

 

What you get – Formost is spread across two floors and has apparel for boys and girls up to the age of three. Prices here start at Rs. 200 and go up to Rs. 800.

 

Formost has T-shirts, trousers, three-fourths and shirts for the little boys. The T-shirts are made from blended cotton and are ideal for kids in the hot and humid climate of Kerala. The prices of the T-shirts start at Rs. 200. We saw a light blue T-shirt and capri set printed with cartoon characters, which cost Rs. 395. The store also stocks a good collection of cotton shirts and trousers for kids. The prices of these start at Rs. 175.

 

For little girls you can find little cotton dresses. Clothes for girls begin at Rs. 230. The store also stocks clothes and accessories for newborn babies. You can pick up little tops, baby frocks, leggings and rompers for babies. The prices of these dress items start at Rs. 25. Cradles made from cloth are available here as well.

 

Gift sets for babies can be bought at Formost. One such gift set including a baby towel, a bib, a toy, a dress, baby soap, oil and kajal was priced at Rs. 200. We were told that the store also stocks uniform materials of various schools in the city.

 

Adults too can pick up dress materials here. Their ready-to-wear section includes trousers and shirts from major brands like Excalibur (from Rs. 490). Women can select from churidars, jeans, tops, salwar kameez and sarees.

 

Our verdict – Formost has a small collection of garments for kids. They offer clothes and accessories for kids only up to the age of three. So for older kids you will have to check out some other place. You will have to park your vehicles on the side of the busy MG Road.
